Afternoon activities for the two children.

image

Scooping and transferring is great. No doubt the kids(only for ayden) get wet at the end of the activity, they have learn something and gained fun!

image

I must say their scooping skill is gd! Not praising but I must say this is good for the kids as I can see how gd are their fine motor skill.

image

They could not bear to let go of this activity, Ayden still cry, refused to let go at the end of this activity.

image

This is what I’ve prepared for this activity for the kids. I’m glad they are enjoying this as much as I do.

image

Learning to count with coins is good for Adelle. Therefore learning to match is good for Ayden.
So I’ve gotten the two of them to do this activity together.

image

For a start, both are excited with this activity, but Adelle gets bored after a while. I feel she still don’t understand much about coins.

image

This was what I’ve prepared for them.

Out of the two activities, the two kids love the ‘water play ‘ more!

The coins activity gets kinda bored for Adelle mainly because she is still not too aware of coins cointing. Perhaps I will try it on her again when she gets older. As for ayden,, he has fun as well, maybe because he loves to match and had been learning how to match the right coins in the picture.

Overall, I would say I still love these two activities!

The story of a sahm.

image

They are the reasons for me being a stay home mummy. I yearn for this day many yrs back before I’m conceive. It’s a little wish that I can be a full time staying at home mummy, taking care of my children needs.

image

Many years later, my supportive husband granted this little wish of mine.

image

Almost 4yrs ago, I gave birth to a baby girl, Adelle which changed my journey in life. If not for her,, I would not be what I am.

image

And so came along Ayden! Almost 2yrs ago I gave birth to this cheeky son. A boy who is active yet gentle in his own way.

It happens as though yesterday. I’ve been a mummy for almost 4yrs. Throughout these few yrs, the journey was though, was always thinking and planning for the kids.

I love what I am now. Many might feel that being with the kids for 24/7 is ridiculous, but I doubt so. That’s the reason why I can stay put as a homemaker for so long!

For a start, I can feel very very bored whereby I hope to arrange meet up with friends or mummy friends. That’s when I can almost able to handle Adelle alone with a big tummy. It’s pretty thought to bring Adelle out to meet friends especially with a big tummy. But because adelle is easier to handle during that time. (she was, 21mths)therefore I could shop or chat with friends although I’m big.

When Ayden was out, the time for a meet up few with friends are lesser. It’s impossible to bring two kids out unless I have extra help

No doubt so, I still feel the joy for staying home with the kids because I plan for the kids activities, plan for their meals. In fact, I feel so much happier staying home with them than to travel out to the mall with friends. In a way, it’s more relaxing staying home!

Now when the kids are older,, everything are so easy and the routine I’ve set for them falls into it very well.

Am so looking forward to the days when they are even older! :)

Old time friends pay us a visit.

image

The three little cutie kids! Adelle, Jovan and Ayden! That’s what we say they are the DoReiMe

image

Because they were both continously from 2009 for Adelle, 2010 for Jovan, 2011 for Ayden and 2012 for joyann(not in the pic)

image

I hope they can grow up together. That’s the so call childhood playmate.

image

They are looking at Jovan mummy, like having a lesson time with her?! Haha.. Look at how they concentrate while listening.

image

Of course, my two friends wanna take a pic of all the four kids. The father is hoping to have more kids while the mummy just wanna stop at two.

image

My mum came and join in the fun as well!

image

The kids sure enjoyed the simple Bento tea break I’ve made for them!

image

Trying to choose, which to take.

image

When I made a simple Bento for the kids, simple yong tau foo soup for the adults (not pictured)

image

My friends ordered these for our two meals.

image

And made these jelly hearts for us!

It’s indeed a fun day on Sunday! My pri school friend, (the husband) and my secondary sch friend (the wife) pays us a visit together with their two children.

Yes,, both of the husband and wife are my friends from pri and sec sch days, it’s so coincidence!

We have the greatest laugh on sun. The husband and wife love to joke badly that we can’t help but keep on laughing all day long.

Thought it will be difficult to handle so many kids at a go, while adults chat and do our work, but everything was easy! It was not messy but easy. The kids self entertain themselves without the need to take watch out for what they are doing, they could play together in a very fun manner.
Great!

Of course, the wife came to learn how to do up the magnetic clothepegs from me. Like me, she wanna learn and give it as a goodies bags items for her daughter 1st birthday.

I’ve shown them the Bento making, which the husband was so impressed that he hopes the wife can learn a little bit. Which I feel, it’s a very simple hobby to learn.

I’ve shown the flashcards to the 6mths old infant, and surprisingly she look attentively at those cards.

Both of my friends were so happy that they can’t wait for me to get the blank flashcards for then fr Adelle and Ayden ex teachers privately from happy train.

All was great for this whole encounter. Hopefully for the next meet up to come again!

Pocket chart activities.

image

Daily Pocket chart lesson for the kids every evening. I normally make it a routine for the kids. It’s one to one lesson before the kids sit together and have a simple lesson together.

image

The lesson on that day is on Chinese color theme. The kids somehow enjoyed the flashcards being read to them here.

Pocket chart worth the invest! Especially when I have two children learning together at the same time, this helps.

A lot of people in fact lots of mummies who asked me where to get the pocket chart.

You can get it from growing fun. That’s my favourite hangout if I’m nearby this store.

So is it time for investing on a pocket chart? :)

Using cubes to learn numbers.

image

Learning numbers for 30 onwards. I find that it’s great to make the kids learn by writing some numbers and have it pasted on the cubes before asking the kids to find and arrange accordingly….

image

And so, it proved to be great! Adelle is learning well this way. She loves to find the right number according to the next coming up number.

image

And so, this is how I’ve done up for Adelle. It’s simple yet easy to prepare where I don’t have to spend lots of time preparing this simple lesson for her.

Something new, she loves it. I hope this can make her learning interest go further.

Matching the right number to the right object is a pretty interesting activity . At this age, Ayden is still unsure how to count and place the right number, but he is gd at recognising the number fr 1-10

image

And so he is trying to count it right! He takes some help Here in counting.

image

Numbers!

image

Another similar activity. To count and place the right number. It seems that I’m emphasizing more on Numbers lately.

image

I’ve always love hands on activities, knowing that children will always learn through this. It’s gd!

image

This was what we are doing lately.

image

Learning letters with leapfrog especially for tray activities.

image

And so this was what I mean by tray activities. All right, I’m currently into this and found quite a bit of resources on tray acrivities for the kids. Looks fun and hope to try it soon!

image

Learning about shapes is so important that especially when it comes to so many shapes to recognize.

image

Counting with cubes is good!

image

This is how I teach Ayden to count using tray method. It’s good for short term usage but not so gd for long term.

image

Lap book is something which was shared between my cousin in law to me. I’ve love it so much that it’s a great way of teaching!

I’ve research quite a bit of activities for the kids. Now I’m looking at more pre schooler ideas for Ayden.

Although I’m early, but it’s good to start him earlier I feel.

Ayden learning at 21mths.

image

Pocket chart is so fun! Learning about matching the correct fruits and vegetables.

image

Learning about matching letters and their objects.

image

Matching big and small fruits n vegetables are fun too!

image

It’s time for nursery song! I’ve always love templates for nursery rhymes. Yes especially when we sing together with the help of the templates is useful which enhance higher understanding of the child.

That’s the reason why I’ve always search for such teaching materials.

Teaching in sizes became the theme which I’ve been doing lately. I want Ayden to understand the meaning of big and small.

The letters and their objects are equally important too. Since Ayden knows all the letter A-Z, I feel it’s time he learns about the various letters and the objects.

Fruits and vegetables recognition is also a good teaching hands on for the kids. It enhance understanding of the difference of these two items.

Do it’s never too early to start and expose the kids to all these!

Lesson at 3yrs 10mths.

image

Learning to measure with cubes. I’ve gotten a few items for Adelle to measure using cubes. She loves it although it’s a bit difficult for her to understand which is shorter and by how many number of cubes.

image

Now she uses the black marker to measure how many cubes does a marker needs in order to make the length.

image

Now we have the egg tray for her to measure the length using cubes.

image

Measure the length of this book using cubes

image

To measure the length of this small colored pencils.

image

Of course, using the marker as well to check how many cubes are needed for it.

image

Learning to count the numbers in a proper manner. When she says out the number which she had counted, I get her to flip over the card to see if she was right.

image

Ever since she has this book from school, I tried using this method to let her understand the different words and to make sentences by picking the right work after I’ve read.

image

When she finished fixing the sentence, I will pass her back the book to see if she has gotten them correctly or not.

I feel that it’s good to print out the different words, read to the child and let her find the words to form the right sentence.

Adelle capture this quite well except at times she tends to confuse herself!

It’s time for her to recognize different words now.

Learning to count us not that easy for Adelle for numbers which are more than 20.
Very often, she will jump on the next number before without calling out the previous one.

So I feel letting her to try this activity by counting is gd. Although it’s simple for her age, but it’s not simple when she gotta count numbers which are more than 20

Ive did cubes activity with her too. She needs this and should know how many cubes make up each item.

Very soon, I would want to try graph for her.

Do you know that u can spend more than 2hrs in front of my pc just to research for more teaching ideas?

Well, the answer is very simple, because I wanna boost their learning interest even higher! I know their learning ability is at it highest peak, all the more I wanna do more for the kids.

That’s explain why even on weekends, I can get up as early as 530am(i sleep earlier at night) just to research for resources?

And normally tend to spend like almost 3hrs in the morning and 2hrs in the afternoon on weekdays while they nap just to research.

So when I blog,, it will be the time while I accompany them to sleep in the night, holding my hp to blog while Adelle and Ayden sleeps on their own by my side. Each time they fallen asleep, I would have written my post, lights off and climb back to my bed.

I love it and enjoyed finding more teaching ideas for the kids.

I’m pretty sure they enjoyed it as much as I do. I tend to plan activities and for them to hands on with after their tea break. That’s the time whereby they are free and have nothing to do. So hands on activities come great during this time.

For night activities, I’ll coach Ayden with some pocket chart activities and tray acrivities(lately into this), while Daddy will guide Adelle in doing her assement book. After which we will swop. Adelle will come down to do her ground activities with me while daddy will do some simple activities with Ayden while sitting in the stool with his things on the table.

So that’s how the kids learn. Have you started yours?

When Adelle and Ayden learns together

image

Large, medium small, this activity is useful for both of them. Useful for Adelle as she gets to learn the words and arrange what is expected. Useful for Ayden because he learns how to differentiate the sizes.

image

Here’s how the teaching materials look like.

image

Learning about fruits and vegetables using pocket chart. It’s pretty useful using pocket chart.

image

TheĀ  zoo animals, the kids are ‘playing around’ with.

image

Shops and their goods. To get the kids to recognize what can be found in the store.

image

The shop and their goods theme.

image

Ever since we have this small table, the kids love to sit around it to have their breakfast or even to do their work there.

image

Lately we bought the cubes for the kids to hands on with. There are so many things to plan for using these cubes. And the good thing was that, we let the kids sit around the table while having free play with cubes.

They are indeed having lotsa fun each time we do up any activities for them. In fact I feel the satisfaction when I see how excited they are looking forward to a new activity.

They are learning well, even when I see what they are doing, I feel like doing the hands on myself as well. Although it’s not a big ‘deal’ but I could see that their activities are getting more n more interesting!

Am so looking forward to more new activities for them soon!
