All these learning with Adelle and Ayden.
Now this post I’m going to share with you guys what Adelle and Ayden had been doing two days back.
A very simple activity for Ayden.
What he needs to do is to form a word using these magnetic alphabets.
He knows the spelling of the sightwords like Three, Four, Six, Nine, Ball, Cat, Pig, Doughnut, Apple, Orange etc.
So gotten him to form a word using what he had. Indeed, he played for the longest time for this activity.
As for Adelle, she is learning to read Time with me a few weeks back. Just two days back, the school gave a worksheet on Time and needs the child to write down the answer on the paper. Guess what, they are already teaching the child on half past three, half past four etc which no worksheets were given to let them hand on with 9.45,5.30,2.25pm etc kind of work and gave them almost immediately on half past something.
Now my take was, why the school didn’t give them worksheets like that and jump into a topic with half past something first??
It’s a good thing I’ve taught Adelle on 5,10,15,20 etc to tell a time, if not I’m sure she will be pretty confuse with what was given.
Now, I’m doing reinforcement on it and hopefully to slowly input half past XXX and quarter past, quarter before x to her.
