Writing tribute.

image

Just last Fri, we went down to kovan hub to wrote a tribute to our founding father, Mr Lee KY for what had he done for Singapore.

We are proud Singaporean, we wanna shout out loud that, we are Singaporean!

image

Adelle did her part by writing down a thankful note to the late Mr lee

image

Of course, Ayden did his part and pen down a thankful note to the late Mr lee.

image

image

Both dear and myself did our part by writing as well.

Felt at ease after doing it so when I failed to go down to Parliament house to pay the last respect for Mr Lee KY.

By going down to kovan hub, with the family of ours to write down individually of what we wanna write for him, with this I’m thankful, grateful for what the late Mr lee had done for Singapore.

As a Singaporean, I’m proud that we had come so far and the credit goes to the late Mr lee KY.

Thank u, Mr Lee KY!

Teaching materials for the children

image

I’ve bought this Chinese characters teaching materials from Taobao some days back and I received it like 10days after which.

The main reason for this was that, I find that Chinese characters is very important for a child who is going to pri one next yr.

I don’t want my children to love only English and dislike Chinese.

Moreover, I don’t believe in forcing a child to learn by writing alot more or by reading more.

I want them to learn at their pace, learning thru playing during their Pre school yrs.
So I source for this in taobao and grab it as soon as I saw it.

image

Learning thru play became so important to increase their likes during their Pre school yrs. It’s the best time to set great foundation during this part of their Pre school yrs.

So I got Adelle to learn time tables this yr. By spinning the wheel, get a number and find the answer for a start.

Of course Ayden finds it interesting and wanna do the same by learning together with Adelle.

I mean, even if he is only in  Nursery, I don’t see it wrong to start him first. Eventually he still need to learn this when he is in k 2,so why not starting him now? :)

Different designs of tapes.

image

Some of the tapes I’ve purchased earlier that I love it so much that I can’t help buying more.

I’ve ordered like another 10 rolls of different designs online and is waiting for it to be shipped back to SG.

Seriously can’t wait for it.

And, look at what I managed to do with the children crafts using these tapes.

image

I did this positive behavior chart for the two children. Using these tapes to tape it at the edge of the paper.
Not forgetting using the clothes pegs with these nicr tapes, tie a ribbon with wooden buttons as decor.

It was nice.

image

I’ve asked the children to do up two set of positive behavior booklet, using these tapes to do some simple decor.

Each time they don’t behave well, I’ll get them to read on the book that they had once written.

So, time to invest more of such tapes whereby I can create nice craft even if I’m not so into arts.

Play with homemade dough.

image

image

image

image

Just yesterday, we did some homemade dough together in the kitchen.

Reason being was that, we hope to make our own dough for play.

We had lots of time to play with dough during this March school holidays.

The kids played with it after their afternoon nap and enjoyed it so much that they refused to stop after an hour of play.

Looking at these cutters and dough, even myself feel like playing with it. :)

Adelle and Ayden in the kitchen!

Normally I will prepare dinner just before the children wake up from their nap.
Yesterday, I decided to get everything ready and wait for them to wake up so that we can stop fry pasta together.

Ayden is standing there quietly looking at how Adelle does the work till the later stage, he gotta go elsewhere to do his own stuff while we continue in the kitchen.

Step by step, I taught Adelle to stir fry the garlic, next to add mushrooms followed by the cooked dishes (broccoli and pasta) and finally the sauce.
She did and was so proud of her creation that she told her daddy that she prepared today’s dinner.

Little creations of Adelle.

image

Yesterday, Adelle made these boxes with decor at the top with bookmarks as well.

I’m kinda surprise that by using her creativity, she did a box like this.
I’ve asked her how did she manage to cut out the shape of a box, did she learned it somewhere, she said nope and refused to tell me where she learns it from.

She said ” Mummy, I think and try it myself and I can really do a box like this. ”
This 5.5 year old daughter of mine is pretty creative in a way. All along I know she is good in arts but creating something like this on her own, to me I find that it’s amazing of how a 5.5 year old child can do.

You are great, Adelle! :)

My love in tapes!

image

All along I had been collecting these fabric tapes or masking tapes in my mini collection.

It’s only a week back, I saw taobao sells quite a lot of nice great looking tapes and so, I’ve ordered from there at least 10 of it and bought some from SG.

I can use it for crafts, pasting in a book, gifts, goodie bags etc.

One of it is,

Here!
Using tapes on my keyboard. Look at the end product, isn’t it marvelous?? :)

Playdates fun (March school holidays 2015)

image

Just yesterday, Ayden classmate came over to our place for playdates.

The children know one another pretty well as they will walk back together from school at times.

image

Simple craft work like this can be quite fun for the children as they just love art and craft as much.

image

Decorate his set of craft work.

image

Adelle concentrates in creating hers too.

image

All the pasting and cutting to create their own set of bookmark.

image

Now Ayden plays with his friend.
Building blocks.

image

Domino play? They love this and I did Patterning with them after which. :)

It’s a good idea to have classmates joining in for playdates.
I held one last Dec with some of his classmates.

This holiday, I’ve decided to try with one classmate to see if it is easier to handle. Indeed it’s much easier to control the kids.

Children enjoyed these simple activities together. :)

How we spend our past few weekends

image

image

image

Each time we pass by downtown East, the son would want to go in for a round of play.
But we only gave in once upon his multi requests. :)

Children loves bowling so much that they won’t feel to look at it each time we are there.

image

After dinner at Downtown East, we will be strolling along Pasir Ris beach, to feel the breeze and view the airplanes that take off from Changi Airport.

Why we were there weekly? That’s because my in laws are staying pretty near there and it is just walking distance to the beach.

The kids love it, so do we! :)

We went to daiso to look for gloves, beanie hat in order to prepare us for winter in June.

Did I mention that we went to Ikea two weeks back on both Sat and Sun??

Now we went to Ikea on that sat because we need to get some toiletries from there urgently.

On sun we went back just for the breakfast and there was no crowds at all at 9am!! Yes can you imagine reaching ikea at 9am just for the breakfast?!

There were some early birds who were as early as us though.

No doubt we just want to go back for breakfast on sun, still we spend another 80bucks+ on sun again(we spend this amt as well on sat)

Guess what, we were so happy and excited going to Ikea that we actually went again yesterday!! 2 weeks in a row!

Going for breakfast and spending another 30+bucks on some stuff for the household again. :(

Looks like ikea is great to shop, eat and to spend our weekends at. :)
